phve0dyx54dvyaRidley Scott’s oft-touted version of Aldous Huxley’s Brave New World is finally underway, according to The Hollywood Reporter.

Confirmed by THR’s Risky Business blog, reports indicate that Scott has taken the project to Universal where it will be co-developed by the director’s Scott Free company and Leonardo DiCaprio’s Appian Way. Farhad Safinia has been recruited to develop the screenplay for this production. At this time it is undisclosed as to whether DiCaprio will be featuring in this movie, but as Appian own the rights to this classic novel it’s not a stretch to imagine him taking a role in this film.

Set in the 26th Century, Huxley’s novel took readers into a dystopian world, where birth control regulations are tight and society is separated into altering factions. It was published in 1931 to great acclaim.

At this time Scott and DiCaprio are signed up only to produce this feature, we will bring you further updates on this exciting adaptation in due course.
