Resident Evil: The Final Chapter new trailer has 48 hours to kill

Milla Jovovich has 48 hours to save us all in the new Resident Evil: The Final Chapter trailer

A new international trailer has arrived for Resident Evil: The Final Chapter, boasting more footage of Milla Jovovich kicking the crap out of the armies of the undead and a whole host of new monsters, not to mention Iain Glen.

The sixth film in the hugely successful franchise is apparently going to be the last one, bringing Paul WS Anderson’s franchise to a close (hopefully) in style. It definitely looks like Anderson is pulling out all the stops for this one, and it’s nice to see that nod to the best bit of the first movie (laser corridor!).

“Picking up immediately after the events in Resident Evil: Retribution, humanity is on its last legs in Washington D.C. As the only survivor of what was meant to be humanity’s final stand against the undead hordes, Alice must return to where the nightmare began – Raccoon City, where the Umbrella Corporation is gathering its forces for a final strike against the only remaining survivors of the apocalypse. In a race against time Alice will join forces with old friends, and an unlikely ally, in an action packed battle with undead hordes and new mutant monsters. Between regaining her superhuman abilities at Wesker’s hand and Umbrella’s impending attack, this will be Alice’s most difficult adventure as she fights to save humanity, which is on the brink of oblivion.”

Jovovich headlines for the final time, alongside Ali Larter (back as Claire Redfield), Iain Glen (the villainous Dr Isaacs), Ruby Rose, Shawn Roberts (franchise baddie Albert Wesker), Rola, Eoin Macken, Joon-Gi Lee, William Lee and Fraser James. Anderson directs from the script he wrote.

Resident Evil: The Final Chapter is released on 27 January in the US and 24 February in the UK. Keep up with the latest genre news with the new issue of SciFiNow.
