Reaper to live on in syndication?

Reports of Reaper’s death may be greatly exaggerated, or so the rumour mill has whispered this week. The freshman show, which has long been written off as cancelled for the upcoming season, may yet live on through syndication according to a report from Broadcasting & Cable Magazine.

ABC Studios has reportedly expressed an interest in producing original episodes, which would then be sold off through syndication to CW affiliates. Fans of the series shouldn’t get too excited yet, however, as several of the cast and crew have already moved on to other projects. The two showrunners, Michelle Fazekas and Tara Butters, have left ABC for Fox, while one of the lead actors, Tyler Labine, has committed to Fox’s Sons Of Tuscon for the new season. Unless they have provisions in their contracts that force them to come back, the show is still in dire straits

UPDATE: As our commentor Cathy corrected us, Reaper is actually in its second season, not a freshman show. Apologies for the error.
