The long-mooted project, which has gone through countless writers and has seen a number of other directors attached, is expected to take a more light-hearted approach to the material, certainly more so than in the classic 1957 original movie.

The latest rumour suggests that Eddie Murphy is to star in the film as the Las Vegas magician who finds himself under a spell that causes him to shrink. After Norbit though, and of course the forthcoming Starship Dave, the notion of Murphy making yet another attempt at comedy does make us a little fearful for the project.
