Could Dominic Cooper be Preacher’s Jesse Custer?

Having already cast a number of major supporting roles in Seth Rogen and Evan Goldberg’s long-awaited TV adaptation of Garth Ennis and Steve Dillon’s Preacher comic-book series, it seems that the titular role of Jesse Custer has finally had someone attached to it.

According to a report on The Wrap, Captain America: The First Avenger and Mamma Mia star Dominic Cooper is close to agreeing a deal that will see him become the conflicted preacher Custer, who embarks on a quest to find God after gaining supernatural powers.

If he signs on, he will join an impressive-looking cast that so far includes Ruth Negga (Misfits, Agents Of SHIELD) as Tulip, Joseph Gilgun (Misfits, Lockout) as Cassidy and Ian Colletti (Phoebe In Wonderland) as Arseface.

So far, so good then. All this needs is a series order, and we could finally be looking at the TV series that Preacher has deserved for so long.
