Powers TV show dead at FX, now on PlayStation

FX drop their adaptation of Powers but the show has been picked up by Sony Pictures TV

It seems the long-mooted Powers TV pilot in development at FX has finally died a death, as according to Deadline the show has been picked up by Sony Pictures TV as part of their move to original programming on the PlayStation Network.

The 10-episode series is described as a “brand new take on the material”, although the original screenwriter Charlie Huston is still involved along with Falling Skies showrunner Remi Aubuchon.

Both are joined as executive producers by the comic’s creators Brian Michael Bendis and Michael Avon Oeming.

It’s a shame we’ll never see Jason Patric’s super-powered Detective Christian Walker…
