A new poster for Power Rangers has arrived ahead of its impending release, and, like the tagline says, it’s Morphin time. It’s a nice balance between “This is a serious blockbuster to be taken seriously” and showing that this is still going to be a fun time at the movies. Well, that’s what we’re hoping for. We’re hoping for a fun time at the movies.
“Saban’s Power Rangers follows five ordinary high school kids who must become something extraordinary when they learn that their small town of Angel Grove – and the world – is on the verge of being obliterated by an alien threat. Chosen by destiny, our heroes quickly discover that they are the only ones who can save the planet. But to do so they will have to overcome their real-life issues and band together as the Power Rangers before it is too late.”
The movie stars Naomi Scott, Becky G, Dacre Montgomery, Ludi Lin and RJ Cyler as the five leads, with Elizabeth Banks as Rita Repulsa, Bryan Cranston as Zordon and Bill Hader as Alpha 5. Dean Israelite is directing from a script penned by John Gatins, Matt Sazama, Burk Sharpless, Michele Mulroney and Kieran Mulroney.
Power Rangers is in cinemas from 23 March. Get all the latest sci-fi news with every issue of SciFiNow.
