Power Rangers movie casts the Blue Ranger

Me And Earl And The Dying Girl star cast for Dean Israelite’s Power Rangers movie

In addition to the Pink, Red and Black Power Rangers, the cast of Project Almanac director Dean Israelite’s Power Rangers movie has been further bulked out by the casting of Me And Earl And The Dying Girl‘s RJ Cyler as the Blue Ranger.

As per the norm for the series so far, the announcement was made via the film’s official Twitter and Instagram accounts, with the former tweeting the following:Blue Ranger

Of all the casting announcements so far, this is the one we’re most excited amount. He was excellent in Me And Earl And The Dying Girl, and considering how relatively unknown the rest of the cast are, we expect him to be a pivotal addition (especially considering how Billy, the original Blue Ranger, always got the most fun storylines).

He joins Naomi Scott, Dacre Montgomery and Ludi Lin on Power Rangers, which is being penned by Ashley Miller and Zack Stentz, with Haim Saban, Brian Casentini and Allison Shearmur producing.

Power Rangers will be released in cinemas on 13 January 2017. For more news on the biggest movies, pick up the latest issue of SciFiNow.
