Peter Dinklage has signed on to play the lead role in an adaptation of the Edgar Allan Poe short story Hop Frog for director Mark Palansky (Penelope)
Speaking to Screen Daily, the Game Of Thrones star stated that “Hop Frog is beautiful and vicious. It has haunted me ever since I read Poe’s original tale of revenge years ago. I can think of no other director than Mark Palansky to bring this new imagining of it vibrantly to life.”
The short story is the tale of “A puppeteer who poses as a court jester to exact revenge on the knights who murdered his uncle and kidnapped the woman he loves.” Roger Corman incorporated the story into his 1964 adaptation of Masque Of The Red Death, starring Vincent Price.
