Rumours started flying in August about the possibility of Hayley Atwell making an appearance in Ant-Man as her wartime heroine Agent Peggy Carter.

The cameo is looking more and more likely after a post appeared on ProjectCasting.com appealing for a stand-in for Atwell in Atlanta which, coincidentally, is where Ant-Man is being filmed. The post reads:

Casting directors are looking for an actor to work as a stand-in for the actor Haley Atwell. Haley Attwell is 31, 5’7 and 112 pounds. She is best known for her work in stage productions such as A View from the Bridge, and in films such as Cassandra’s DreamThe DuchessThe Pillars of the Earth, and Captain America: The First Avenger. In addition, casting directors are looking for a body double that meets certain requirements.

There has also been a rumour involving Hank Pym (Michael Douglas) will have a prologue flashback meeting at S.H.I.E.L.D. headquarters, and it’s likely Peggy Carter will feature in the sequence.

In a addition to the Ant-Man rumours, it’s been confirmed that Peggy Carter will be making her second appearance in Agents Of S.H.I.E.L.D. Season 2. Atwell will reprise her role in episode 8, The Things We Bury.

The episode is set to feature a showdown between S.H.I.E.L.D. and Hydra, as well an appearance from Ward’s mysterious brother Christian. Hello, official synopsis:
