Hot Fuzz and Dead Man’s Shoes star Paddy Considine has joined the cast of The World’s End, the third film in Edgar Wright, Simon Pegg and Nick Frost’s ‘Cornetto Trilogy’ after Shaun Of The Dead and Hot Fuzz.
The World’s End is an apocalyptic sci-fi comedy about five childhood friends who reunited 20 years after an epic pub crawl to finally complete it, but according to the official blurb, “As they attempt to reconcile the past and present, they realise the real struggle is for the future, not just theirs but humankind’s. Reaching The World’s End is the least of their worries.” There’s also been hints from the director and cast that an alien invasion might be involved.
Considine is set to play one of the five friends, described as “a former ladies’ man and musician who has grown up to be a divorced architect.”
The World’s End is due in cinemas 14 August 2013.
