news1_0Overture Films has picked up Men Who Stare At Goats, which stars George Clooney and Ewan McGregor, for distribution at an as-yet undetermined date.

The film is based around a book by Jon Ronson, a true story in which Ronson (McGregor), a reporter, is shown a secret government program designed to test the effectiveness of psychic warfare. The title is derived from a Special Forces operator, played by Clooney, who claimed that he could kill a goat by staring at it. Needless to say, the real-life project failed to deliver results.

The film is directed by Grant Heslov, and co-stars Kevin Spacey and Jeff Bridges. The film has already been shot, and it is likely that a release date will not be too far away, according to Empire Magazine.
