We’re heading back to Fraser’s Ridge this summer for the seventh and penultimate season of time-traveling fantasy series Outlander.
Outlander Season 7 will be released this June and will be split into two parts of eight episodes each, with the back half airing in 2024.
Not only that but we’ve been given several first look images of the new season to quench the Droughtlander thirst.

Outlander stars Caitríona Balfe, Sam Heughan, Sophie Skelton, Richard Rankin, John Bell, David Berry, Caitlin O’Ryan, Paul Gorman and Keziah Beardsley alongisde newcomers Charles Vandervaart as ‘William Ransom,’ Izzy Meikle-Small as ‘Rachel Hunter’ and Joey Phillips as ‘Denzell Hunter’ for Season Seven.
Series Seven will be the penultimate season for the popular show, with Season Eight being its final series (check out the announcement for S8 below) but fear not Outlander fans, as a prequel show is already in the works, named Outlander: Blood of My Blood .
Outlander: Blood of My Blood will be an original series from Outlander executive producers Matthew B. Roberts, Ronald D. Moore and Maril Davis.
The prequel series will comprise 10-episodes and will centre on the lives and relationship of Jamie Fraser’s parents, Brian Fraser and Ellen MacKenzie.
“Blood of My Blood is, at its heart, a love story,” explains Roberts. “It will explore what lengths a person will go to find love in a time when love is considered a luxury, and when marriages are made strategically, often for political or financial gain.
“The title is a nod to Jamie Fraser’s marriage vow to Claire and there will be several names and faces that ‘Outlander’ fans will know and recognize. Jamie and Claire’s TV story may be coming to an end with Season Eight, but Diana is continuing on with their literary journey in her wonderful book series and is working diligently on Book Ten. With Jamie and Claire, and now Brian and Ellen, there is still so much more to come in the ‘Outlander’ universe, and we cannot wait to continue sharing these stories with our dedicated fans.”
The seventh season of Outlander is set to premiere on Friday, 16 June exclusively on LIONSGATE+ in the UK with new episodes available to stream weekly on Fridays on the premium international streamer.
