Ewan McGregor is back as Obi-Wan Kenobi in the new Disney+ series set to be released this May. Here’s what we know about the show so far…

Listen up Star Wars fans! It’s not too long to wait until we get to see Ewan McGregor back as the iconic Jedi Master, Obi-Wan Kenobi, with the new TV series (appropriately named Obi-Wan Kenobi) set to be released on 25 May on Disney+!

How many episodes will there be?

Obi-Wan Kenobi is a limited series, told in six parts.

What is the story about?

The story begins ten years after the dramatic events of Star Wars: Revenge of the Sith where Obi-Wan Kenobi faced his greatest defeat—the downfall and corruption of his best friend and Jedi apprentice, Anakin Skywalker, who turned to the dark side as evil Sith Lord Darth Vader.

We know Ewan McGregor is reprising his role, but is anyone else?

Yes! The series also marks the return of Hayden Christensen in the role of Darth Vader and Bonnie Piesse as Beru Lars.

Who else will be in the cast?

Joining the cast are Moses Ingram (The Tragedy of Macbeth), Joel Edgerton (The Green Knight), Kumail Nanjiani (Eternals), Indira Varma (Carnival Row), Rupert Friend (Strange Angel), O’Shea Jackson Jr (Godzilla: King of the Monsters), Sung Kang (Lisey’s Story), Simone Kessell (The Crossing) and Benny Safdie (Licorice Pizza).

Who else is behind the series?

Obi-Wan Kenobi is directed by Deborah Chow, director of two episodes of The Mandalorian Season One. It is executive-produced by Kathleen Kennedy, Michelle Rejwan, Deborah Chow, Ewan McGregor and Joby Harold.

Obi-Wan Kenobi will be released on 27 May on Disney+.
