Nightmare Cinema anthology horror confirms directors

Joe Dante, David Slade and others join Mick Garris’ Nightmare Cinema

Mick Garris’ horror anthology Nightmare Cinema has announced its director roster, and it’s pretty damn impressive.

Shock Till Ya Drop reports that Garris’ collaborators on the film include David Slade (Hannibal, 30 Days Of Night), Ryuhei Kitamura (The Midnight Meat Train, Versus),  Alejandro Brugues (Juan Of The Dead), and the legendary Joe Dante.

Garris also confirmed that the scripts would be written by “Richard Christian Matheson, Mexican author Sandra Becerril, David Slade and myself!

The director of Sleepwalkers and Desperation certainly has a track record of assembling awesome genre talent, creating the sadly missed anthology horror TV series Masters Of Horror and its second incarnation Fear Itself.

It’s that spirit that Garris is attempting to recapture with the show, as he previously told STYD:

“It’s a horror anthology with five unique stories, each with a different director. This is a feature-film collection of unique horror stories linked only by a desire to reach in and grab you by the terror gland, made by a group of directors from around the world, each with a vision unlike any other. It’s the same philosophy I had when Masters Of Horror came to be, but in an anthology film format. I can’t wait to finalize the paperwork and announce the names. I know the horror community will be as excited as I am!”

Nightmare Cinema will begin shooting in 2016. Keep up with the latest horror news with the new issue of SciFiNow.
