New Stranger Things trailer sees the return of the Mind Flayer

Stranger Things Season 3 is getting spooky

Millie Bobby Brown in the trailer for Stranger Things Season 3

Stranger Things Season 3 is just a few weeks away from release, but this final trailer will give us plenty to speculate over until then. Check it out:

Where the first Season 3 trailer focused on normal 1980s kids’ stuff – malls, funfairs, falling out with your mate because they got a girlfriend – this new trailer leans into the supernatural element. It reveals that, even though Eleven closed to the gate to the Upside Down in the Season 2 finale, the monstrous Mind Flayer is still trapped in the real world, and this time he’s taken Max’s bullying step-brother Billy as his host.

Eleven’s powers are on full display in this trailer as the cast of kids, teens, parents and awesome babysitters fight the Mind Flayer and his army of demogorgons. The focus is all on the monsters and the spectacle, with few clues for what’s going on with our characters, but it looks like Will still retains some connection to the Upside Down, Hopper is still Eleven’s adoptive parent, and Dustin is still worryingly absent from big chunks of the action.

Stranger Things Season 3 stars Millie Bobby Brown (Godzilla: King Of The Monsters), Finn Wolfhard (It), Gaten Matarazzo, Caleb McLaughlin, Noah Schnapp (Bridge Of Spies), Winona Ryder (Edward Scissorhands), David Harbour (Hellboy), Charlie Heaton (The Secret Of Marrowbone), Natalia Dyer (Velvet Buzzsaw), Joe Keery (Molly’s Game), Sadie Sink (American Odyssey), Dacre Montgomery (Power Rangers) and Cary Elwes (Saw).

Stranger Things Season 3 lands on Netflix on 4 July 2019. Get all the latest TV news in every issue of SciFiNow.
