Neil Marshall to direct 3D horror

The Descent helmer to try his hand at 3D.

Neil HarrisonNeil Marshall is stepping into the third dimension and will be directing a 3D feature, which is aptly titled Burst 3D.

As reported by Variety, the Dog Soldiers and Descent helmer will begin work on this project after his upcoming period mash-up Centurion. Burst 3D centres on a bunch of lost travellers who find themselves falling prey to an evil force. In accordance with the film’s title, one by one each of these lost souls begin to spontaneously combust.

The film is being produced by Sam Raimi’s Ghost House Pictures and Lionsgate has landed distribution rights for the picture. Previously Lionsgate achieved moderate success with its 3D remake of My Bloody Valentine.

At this time Burst 3D has no production or release date.
