Monica Bellucci is the latest star to join the cast of the upcoming version of The Sorcerer’s Apprentice. Bellucci will be starring as Veronica, a sorceress and love interest to Nicolas Cage’s Balthazar Blake.
Jon Turteltaub will be directing this realisation of Johann Wolfgang Goethe’s classic poem, with Carlo Bernard heading up the project’s writing team. Bellucci adds to a cast list that includes Nicolas Cage Alfred Molina, Toby Kebbell and Jay Baruchel.
The Sorcerer’s Apprentice is currently filming and is scheduled for a 13 August 2010 UK release date.
