A new batch of pictures, and higher res versions of old pictures, has emerged for Tim Burton’s upcoming Miss Peregrine’s Home For Peculiar Children.
The new set (via Den Of Geek) give us a better look at the cast, with Eva Green as the titular Miss Peregrine, and the various peculiar children with their singular talents. The film stars Asa Butterfield (Ender’s Game, Hugo) as Jacob Portman, backed up by an incredible supporting cast including Judi Dench, Samuel L Jackson, Chris O’Dowd, Terence Stamp, Kim Dickens and the awesome Allison Janney.
If you need another reason to get excited, Ransom Riggs’ excellent novel has been adapted by Jane Goldman (Kick-Ass, The Woman In Black, Stardust, X-Men: First Class).
While Burton’s output has been somewhat hit and miss recently (although Frankenweenie didn’t get nearly enough love), he feels like a good fit for this story, and with Goldman and that cast involved, we’re obviously going to be there.
Den Of Geek also has a statement from the man himself about the movie:
“When I was first approached to direct Miss Peregrine’s Home for Peculiar Children I was given a summary of the novel with all of the photos in the book. I was immediately intrigued by the haunting and mysterious pictures in Ransom Riggs’ novel and knew I wanted to tell the story of those kids. A girl, lighter than air, a boy with bees living in his stomach, a woman who turned into a bird—it was a world I wanted to explore. So I made a film about them.”
We’re excited to see it.
