According to The Hollywood Reporter, the adaptation of Mark Millar (Civil War, Kick-Ass) and Goran Parlov (The Punisher)’s Starlight – a homage to Buck Rogers and Flash Gordon-style space adventurers – has confirmed a screenwriter.

Gary Whitta, who is currently working on one of the Star Wars spin-offs with Godzilla director Gareth Edwards, has signed on to write.

He joins X-Men: Days Of Future Past‘s writer/producer Simon Kinberg who is producing – Kinberg has a Star Wars connection of his own as one of the executive producers of Star Wars Rebels.
