Man Of Steel 2 is going to happen

Not sure when, but a sequel to Man Of Steel is definitely a thing

In what has to be one of the worst-kept secrets of all time, it would appear that Superman lives. Actually, that’s probably not fair: could it even be legitimately classed as a secret?

The ending to Batman V Superman: Dawn Of Justice couldn’t have been anymore unambiguous if it had tried, and to cap things off, the first bloody promotional image for Justice League has Kal-El standing with the rest of the team. We didn’t exactly have to turn into Miss Marple to discern this one.

Even so, it comes as a slight surprise that a sequel to 2013’s Man Of Steel has been confirmed by The Wrap to be in the works. After all, surely all momentum’s lost, having skipped straight to Batman V Superman, which focused primarily on the Dark Knight?

Apparently not. According to the source, a sequel is in the works, with the focus being on getting the character “right” this time. Whenever it happens, it will be after the Batman solo movie (which itself will be released after the likes of Wonder Woman, The Flash, Aquaman, Cyborg and, of course, Justice League), so we can safely say that it’ll be a while yet.

We feel confident in saying that Henry Cavill will reprise his role in the sequel, although needless to say there’s not much else we know. Whatever happens, it’ll be nice to see him get a bit of alone time after coming back from the dead and everything (we feel pretty confident that saying this doesn’t constitute a spoiler). The nature of his appearance will largely be defined by what happens in all the movies released before it, of course, but we’ll happily bide our time and wait to see what happens.

Justice League will be released in cinemas on 17 November 2017. You can download The 25 Greatest DC Comics Ever digital edition from GreatDigitalMags.com now. For all the latest movie news, pick up the new issue of SciFiNow.
