Logan’s Run remake is still running with X-Men writer

X-Men: Days Of Future Past writer is the latest to tackle the Logan’s Run remake

Logans RunIt feels like the Logan’s Run remake has been in the works for as long as we can remember, and it’s still not been made. Now, a new writer has been brought on board to tackle the 1976 classic sci-fi about a dystopian society in which citizens are killed when they reach the age of 30.

THR reports that Simon Kinberg is the latest screenwriter to come on board, following in the footsteps of Alex Garland, Christopher McQuarrie and Will Beal. Bryan Singer and Nicolas Winding Refn were both in line to direct at one point, with Ryan Gosling up for starring in the latter’s take on it.

Kinberg has been brought on board with fellow producer Joel Silver to crack the story and write the first treatment, which will be handed over to another writer at a later date. Kinberg’s a busy guy at the moment, having written Fantastic Four and X-Men: Apocalypse, and working on one of the Star Wars anthology films.
