“Ohana means family, and family means nobody is left behind or forgotten.” Who can forget Disney’s 2002 charming animation Lilo & Stitch? Well, Disney clearly hasn’t as it’s the latest of its animated movies to get the live-action reimagining treatment, coming on off the heels of the Snow White live-action movie, which is out this Friday – read our review here.

Lilo & Stitch is the wildly funny and touching story of a lonely Hawaiian girl and the fugitive alien who helps to mend her broken family.
The film is directed by Dean Fleischer Camp (Marcel the Shell with Shoes On), with a screenplay by Chris Kekaniokalani Bright and Mike Van Waes.
It stars Sydney Elizebeth Agudong (At Her Feet), Billy Magnussen (Road House), Tia Carrere (the voice of Nani in the original Lilo & Stitch movie), Hannah Waddingham (Ted Lasso), Chris Sanders (The Croods), Courtney B. Vance (Grotesquerie), Zach Galifianakis (Ron’s Gone Wrong), and Maia Kealoha in her first role as Lilo.
Lilo & Stitch will be released in cinemas on Friday 23 May 2025.
