Leonard Nimoy retiring for good

The Star Trek veteran is backing out of Star Trek 2

Former Mr Spock, Leonard Nimoy, whose most recent sci-fi outings were a cameo in JJ Abrams’ 2009 Star Trek reboot, and the role of William Bell in Fringe, has decided to call it a day at the grand old age of 80, and retire from acting and convention appearances, with his last three being the forthcoming two official Star Trek cons in Las Vegas and Chicago, and Dragon*Con in Atlanta.

What this means for the increasingly delayed Star Trek 2 is that there’s only going to be one Spock, Zachary Quinto.
