Fox have announced a ‘put pilot’ for a TV show based on Kevin O’Neil and Alan Moore’s The League Of Extraordinary Gentleman comic series, which mashed up various literary characters from the Victorian age into one superhero team-up.

A ‘put pilot’ is one in which the network has agreed to air, otherwise it’ll have to pay the studio a significant sum, so this is pretty much guaranteed to get picked up.

According to TVLIne, Heroes and The River showrunner Michael Green will serve as the writer/executive producer/showrunner, while The Matrix‘s Erwin Stoff is also producing.

No doubt Alan Moore will soon be telling us all what he thinks…

You can pick up the first volume of The League Of Extraordinary Gentlemen from £12.99 from Amazon.co.uk.
