We were already pretty excited about Michael Dougherty’s Krampus, given that it comes from the man who gave us Trick ‘R Treat and stars Fargo‘s awesome Allison Tolman, and now the cast has added some more excellent names.
The Wrap and THR report that Toni Collette (Little Miss Sunshine, Enough Said), Adam Scott (Parks And Recreation, Step Brothers), David Koechner (Anchorman, Cheap Thrills) and Stefania Owen (The Carrie Diaries) have signed on to join Tolman and Emjay Anthony in the Christmas-themed horror that “centers on a family that comes under attack from a Santa Claus-like ancient entity who punishes bad kids.”
Collette is playing “the mother, a woman who pretends everything is perfect with her family via her elaborate meals but will also have to dig deep to protect her family,” while Tolman is playing her sister-in-law.
Scott is “the father, a workaholic and rather absent dad who has to step up for his family,” and Koechner will play a father whose child has been taken. Owen is playing Scott’s daughter.
So yep, we’re pretty excited about this one.
Krampus will be released in UK cinemas 4 December. You can buy Trick R Treat on DVD for £6 at Amazon.co.uk. Keep up with the latest genre news with the new issue of SciFiNow.
