Kirsten Dunst has joined Michael Shannon and Joel Edgerton in Jeff Nichols’ sci-fi thriller Midnight Special.
Deadline reports that the Melancholia star has been cast in the tribute to John Carpenter classics, in which a father and his 8-year old go on the run when dad realises the boy has some kind of special powers.”
Nichols has made a name for himself as one of America’s most interesting up-and-coming directors with his excellent dramas Shotgun Stories, Take Shelter and Mud (all of which star Michael Shannon). A sci-fi thriller from him is definitely something to get excited about.
