One of the big excitements for fans when Avengers: Doomsday comes out next Christmas is seeing the former Fox X-Men cast (plus Channing Tatum as Gambit) returning for the film. One fan favourite is Beast, played by Kelsey Grammer, and the actor has been talking recently about stepping back into the role for the new film.
Speaking to ComingSoon.net in recent weeks, Grammer has told of his excitement for his return as the character, and that he always hoped that one day he would get to play the character one more time, saying:
“Yeah, it was the secret, quiet passion and mind to come back to Beast because I love the character. I love him for what I think he stands for,” Grammer said. “I mean, to me, to my mind, he’s the Martin Luther King of the mutant community. He’s a man of stature, of integrity, who believes that what you do is who you are, and he’s done everything, and he stands. He was slow to action, but once being immersed, he is given no quarter and expects none. He’s an amazing character, an amazing man.
“I love playing him. I think people will be happy with what we’re doing when he comes back. But I’d love to see [what happens] and play him again. Honestly, to me, he is one of the great opportunities in my life.”
Patrick Stewart, Ian McKellen, Alan Cumming, Rebecca Romijn, James Marsden, and Tatum return from the X-Men Fox universe, alongside MCU’ers Chris Hemsworth, Tom Hiddleston, Pedro Pascal, Vanessa Kirby, Anthony Mackie, Sebastian Stan, Florence Pugh, Wyatt Russell, Hannah John-Kamen, Lewis Pullman, David Harbour, Letitia Wright, Tenoch Huerta, Ebon Moss-Bachrach, Simu Liu, Danny Ramirez, Joseph Quinn, Winston Duke, and Paul Rudd.
Avengers: Doomsday opens in cinemas on December 18th, 2026.
