Smallville’s Laura Vandervoort as Elena Michaels in Bitten

Bitten, the new TV show based on the first novel in Kelley Armstrong‘s Women of the Otherworld series, has been picked up by Syfy.

The Hollywood Reporter¬†claims that the series, starring Smallville‘s Laura Vandervoort as the world’s only female werewolf Elena Michaels, will broadcast in the US and Canada (and hopefully the UK) in 2014.

It’s based on the hugely popular and long-running series of supernatural novels by Kelley Armstrong, and Bitten “follows Elena as she attempts to escape a world she never wanted to be part of (as well as the man who turned her into a werewolf), abandoning her pack and taking refuge in a new city, where she works as a photographer and hides her werewolf existence from her boyfriend.

“When bodies begin turning up in her pack’s backyard, she finds herself back at Stonehaven, the werewolves’ ancestral domain, where she will stop at nothing to defend her pack.”

You can buy Kelley Armstrong’s Bitten in paperback for ¬£5.59 at Amazon.co.uk.
