Justice League new trailer shows off more of the cast, plus jokes

New Justice League trailer brings the thunder and the laughs

The new Justice League trailer has arrived, showing off some of Aquaman’s banter and some of the extended cast, including JK Simmons’ Jim Gordon, Amber Heard’s Mera, Amy Adam’s Lois Lane and Billy Crudup’s Henry Allen. Here we go…

A lot has been made of the tonal shift between Batman V Superman and Justice League, and this trailer certainly seems to reflect that. It’s still visually dark and full of slow-motion and explosions, but there’s definite humour here. We expected that from Ezra Miller’s Barry Allen (and you know we love Ezra Miller), but it’s kind of a surprise to see Jason Momoa’s Arthur Curry cracking wise so much here, given how much of his promotional material has been focused on his incredible thousand yard stare and glowering badass-dom.

Also, there are those parademons from Bruce’s vision of a blasted future in Batman V Superman, and it’s nice to see a bit more of Ray Fisher’s Cyborg. It’s interesting that, parademons aside, there’s still no mention of the film’s villain as anything other than “something coming” or something that’s “already here.” They really need to do better than Doomsday.

Justice League stars Gal Gadot as Wonder Woman, Ben Affleck as Batman, Ray Fisher as Cyborg, Ezra Miller as The Flash, Jason Momoa as Aquaman, Henry Cavill as Superman, Amy Adams as Lois Lane, Jeremy Irons as Alfred Pennyworth, JK Simmons as Commissioner Gordon, Ciaran Hinds as Steppenwolf, Diane Lane as Martha Kent, Billy Crudup as Henry Allen, Amber Heard as Mera, Willem Dafoe as Vulko, Kiersey Clemons as Iris West, Connie Nielsen as Queen Hippolyta, Joe Morton as Dr Silas Stone and Jesse Eisenberg as Lex Luthor.

Zack Snyder is directing, with Chris Terrio writing the screenplay, Jon Berg, Geoff Johns, Charles Roven and Deborah Snyder producing and Junkie XL composing the score.

Justice League is in cinemas from 17 November 2017. Get all the latest superhero movie news with every issue of SciFiNow.
