While we love JK Simmons as an actor, we have to admit that we were slightly surprised to hear that he had been cast as Commissioner James Gordon in the upcoming Justice League movie – not so much because he had crossed the Marvel/DC divide, but because we just couldn’t picture him. Gary Oldman is still too firmly embedded in our minds.
As it turns out though, having seen the first image of Simmons in character, we have changed our minds completely. Thanks to director Zack Snyder, here is the man himself, flanked by the Bat-signal. Colour us impressed.
Simmons will star alongside Ben Affleck, Henry Cavill, Gal Gadot, Ezra Miller, Jason Momoa, Ray Fisher, Jesse Eisenberg, Amy Adams and Jeremy Irons. Zack Snyder is on directing duties, working on a script from Chris Terrio.
