Jurassic World 2 confirmed, to the surprise of no one

Stars and director confirmed to return for Jurassic World sequel

Jurassic World 2
Chris Pratt and Bryce Dallas Howard will both return for the Jurassic World sequel

Considering it’s now officially the third highest grossing film of all time, with its $1.5 billion takings seeing it overtake Avengers Assemble, and leaving it behind only Avatar and Titanic, it will come as absolutely no surprise to anyone that a sequel to Jurassic World has been confirmed.

Stars Chris Pratt and Bryce Dallas Howard will both return (hopefully revealing exactly what the hell was meant by Owen’s final line in the process), along with director and writing team Colin Trevorrow and Derek Connolly, although Trevorrow has come out and said that he won’t be directing the next instalment (he’ll remain on writing duties though).

Exactly what the plot will be remains up in the air. One of the recurring themes of Jurassic World was the persistent attempts by Vincent D’Onofrio’s character to use the dinosaurs for military applications, so maybe something will go wrong on that front. Or maybe they’ll try to re-open the park again. Whatever happens, they’ll have to go some way to topping THAT death scene.
