Remember that Jumanji remake that Columbia Pictures announced a few years ago? Yeah? Well it’s happening and it’s on track for a Christmas 2016 release date.
Deadline also reports that Scott Rosenberg (Con Air, Kangaroo Jack) has been chosen to rewrite the remake’s script. The film is reportedly considered a high priority project, and the studio is planning on fast tracking it in time for a Christmas Day release.
This version of Jumanji is said to be a re-imagining of the book of the same name by children’s author Chris Van Allsburg. The first film version starred Bonnie Hunt, Kristen Dunst, Bradley Pierce and of course the late Robin Williams.
