Filming has finally got underway on Todd Phillips’ Joker, and the director has given us the first look at Joaquin Phoenix in character as…Arthur.
Paparazzi photos of Phoenix shooting the film have started to emerge, so Phillips has sensibly got out in front of the headlines and confirmed that this is not going to be the Joker you expect. The gritty origin story, which reportedly draws on Scorsese classics The King Of Comedy and Taxi Driver, also stars Zazie Beetz, Robert De Niro, Frances Conroy, Josh Pais and Marc Maron, but definitely not Alec Baldwin. No, sir.
