John Hurt will reunite with Guillermo del Toro in his upcoming TV series of The Strain.
According to Deadline, Hurt will play Dr Abraham Setrakian, the Holocaust survivor who has tangled with vampires before. When the vampire plague hits New York, Setrakian joins forces with Dr Ephraim Goodweather (Corey Stoll), Dr Nora Martinez (Mía Maestro) and exterminator Vasily Fet (Kevin Durand) to try and save the world.
Del Toro is adapting his trilogy of novels for FX with his co-author Chuck Hogan, and he will direct the pilot episode.
