According to TrekMovie.com, the title for JJ Abrams’ Star Trek sequel – tentatively referred to as Star Trek 2, much to the chagrin of Trek fans everywhere – is officially revealed to be Star Trek Into Darkness.
Star Trek Into Darkness is the first Star Trek movie to not have a a semi-colon in its name ever, and apparently Paramount played around with not having Star Trek in the title at all.
The fastidious rumour-hounds at ComingSoon.net originally broke the news, as anonymous domain name register Mark Monitor, utilised by Paramount in the past, has just snatched up www.startrekintodarkness.com and www.startrekintodarknessmovie.
Star Trek Into Darkness is due in cinemas 17 May 2013.
