Jenn Wexler’s directorial debut The Ranger shows off a glorious retro poster

We’re loving this old school poster for horror veteran Jenn Wexler’s first feature The Ranger

The first poster has arrived for The Ranger (via Arrow In The Head) and we’re loving the retro intensity of it. Jenn Wexler’s been a horror staple for a while now as a producer on ace indies like Darling, Most Beautiful Island and Psychopaths, and she’s making her feature debut as director/co-writer of this horror thriller which makes its debut at SXSW very soon.

“When Chelsea and her friends get in trouble with the cops, they flee the city and go on the run. Fuelled by a hallucinogenic drug called Echo, they hope to lay low-and get high-in an old family hideout in the woods. But Chelsea’s got reservations about going back to nature and secrets she’s not sharing with her friends. When a shot rings out, her past comes crashing back, and the punks find themselves pitted against the local authority- an unhinged park ranger with an axe to grind.”

The Ranger stars Chloe Levine, Granit Lahu, Jeremy Pope, Bubba Weiler, Amanda Grace Benitez, Jeremy Holm, and the great Larry Fessenden, and is co-written by Giaco Furino.

The Ranger will play at SXSW on 12 March. No UK release has been announced.
