David Robert Mitchell’s superb horror It Follows has been a real success story. It may not have achieved the incredible grosses of, say, Blumhouse’s biggest hits, but Radius-TWC’s wide-release strategy seems to have paid off.
So it’s not too surprising to hear that the studio is looking at a sequel. In this detailed report on Deadline (unearthed by Bloody Disgusting), Radius-TWC co-president Tom Quinn said: “Already the success of It Follows has exceeded our goals. The ultimate goal for us: We want to see another sequel.”
Admittedly the choice of the word “another” is a bit odd but it’s not a great shock. The question is whether or not writer-director Mitchell would want to be involved, or whether the film (which admittedly does have a franchise-friendly hook) would go on to sequels without him.
What do you think? Are you interested in seeing the sexually transmitted terrors of It Follows continue? Or are you happy with the film as a stand-alone?
