The sad fact that the current series of Inside No. 9 is ending this week has been softened slightly with a happy twist: the BBC has officially ordered Series 5. Actually, it’s not really a twist. It would be more of a twist if it was cancelled.
The fifth series is set to air in 2019, and will consist of six episodes. If you haven’t already seen Inside No. 9, you should really get on that because it’s incredible.
Written by and starring Reece Shearsmith and Steve Pemberton (both of The League Of Gentlemen and Psychoville fame), the show is a 30-minute anthology series featuring an extremely broad range of stories, from the hilarious and heartbreaking to the downright horrific and macabre.
Though not every episode is genre, it’s still a must-watch for genre fans who love their horror with a pinch of comedy.
Most of Series 4 is currently available to watch on BBC iPlayer, while Series 1 and 2 are on Netflix UK.
