20th Century Fox have confirmed that not only is Roland Emmerich’s long-mooted sequel to 1996’s city-smashing gung-ho-athon Independence Day still on the cards, but it’s due for release 4 July – obviously – 2015.
Though Will Smith isn’t involved, Bill Pullman will be reprising his role as the now former president of the United States, and Independence Day 2 will end on a cliffhanger that leads directly into Independence Day 3.
