In The Flesh Series 3 cancelled by BBC Three

Sad news for fans of Dominic Mitchell’s In The Flesh as BBC Three confirms cancellation

In The FleshWe’d been waiting for word on a third series for Dominic Mitchell’s In The Flesh for a while now, and we’re very sorry to report that the fan favourite won’t be coming back.

BBC Three confirmed that In The Flesh would not be returning for a third series, saying “BBC Three is very proud of the two award-winning series of In the Flesh. However, given there is only budget for one original drama series a year on the channel it won’t be returning. We loved the show but have to make hard choices to bring new shows through and create room for emerging talent. Huge thanks to the BAFTA award-winning writer Dominic Mitchell and the superb cast.”

This is obviously very sad news for those of us who were won over by the story of recently deceased Kieran Walker and his turbulent home town of Roarton. The series starred Luke Newberry, Harriet Cains, Emily Bevan and Emmett J Scanlan, and garnered a devoted fanbase, in large part due to its sensitive depiction of issues including teenage depression and coping with prejudice.

Although we’re hugely disappointed by the BBC’s decision, we can’t wait to see what Mitchell does next.

You can buy In The Flesh Series 1-2 on Blu-ray for £8.60 at Amazon.co.uk. Keep up with the latest genre news with the new issue of SciFiNow
