English actor Idris Elba, best known for the title character in detective series Luther, as well as supporting roles in The Losers, 28 Weeks Later and most recently, the Viking god Heimdall in Thor, has signed on for Guillermo del Toro‘s mysterious new horror movie Pacific Rim, which is due 2013.
All we know about the film is the following blurb: “Set in a future in which malevolent creatures threaten the earth, the planet must band together and use highly advanced technology to eradicate the growing menace.”
