Hunger Games’ Jennifer Lawrence negotiating $10 million for Catching Fire

Actress Jennifer Lawrence looks set to go from $500k to $10 million in The Hunger Games sequel

Jennifer Lawrence signed onto star as Katniss Everdeen in The Hunger Games when she was a relative unknown, but her performance helped the film gross $683.8 million worldwide.

According to The Hollywood Reporter, Lawrence was paid $500,000 upfront, plus bonuses depending on box-office performance. Now she is in negotiations for a $10 million deal according to THR’s sources.

The original deal locked her into the four films based on the trilogy by Suzanne Collins, but after the success of the franchise producers are renegotiating Lawrence’s and her co-star’s Liam Hemsworth and Josh Hutcherson’s contracts. Both Lawrence and Lionsgate declined comment, though.

Filming on the sequel Catching Fire is set to begin in September in Georgia, with a release date of November 22nd, 2013.
