Hereditary trailer for Sundance horror hit looks terrifying

We’ve been hearing some brilliant things about upcoming horror movie Hereditary, as the feature debut from writer-director Ari Aster made one hell of a splash at Sundance. It comes from the consistently trustworthy A24 (Ex Machina, The Witch, It Comes At Night, Green Room) the first trailer is anything to go by, it’s going to scare the hell out of you…

Toni Collette leads a cast that also includes the always-great Ann Dowd (The Handmaid’s Tale, Compliance), Gabriel Byrne, Alex Wolff and Milly Shapiro. Here’s the synopsis from IMDB:

“The Graham family starts to unravel following the death of their reclusive grandmother. Even after she’s gone, the matriarch still casts a dark shadow over the family, especially her loner teenage granddaughter, Charlie, whom she always had an unusual fascination with. As an overwhelming terror takes over their household, their peaceful existence is ripped apart, forcing their mother to explore a darker realm in order to escape the unfortunate fate they’ve inherited.”
