Hellraiser 3D confirmed

Scanners still in development hell, says Dimension.

hellraiserA 3D remake of Clive Barker’s cult classic horror film Hellraiser has been confirmed, in the first official word on the project since rumours began circulating months ago.

The film will be entitled Clive Barker’s Hellraiser, according to Variety, and official word on who will be attached to the film is yet to come. Dimension Films, which is also producing Scream 4 and a remake of An American Werewolf In London, added that the proposed remake of Scanners is currently in development hell after David Goyer submitted his last script draft.

Hellraiser, originally released in 1987, essentially follows a supernatural puzzle box that summons demons from another realm, known as Cenobites, when it is solved into a certain configuration. For our interview with Julien Maury, who worked on the script for the remake, click here.
