Watch out, Woodsboro – Ghostface is back, and this time he/she wants to burn it all down. Paramount Pictures has released the first trailer for the hugely anticipated seventh film in the Scream series, one that sees Neve Campbell return as Sidney Prescott and creator Kevin Williamson as director.
You can watch the trailer below:
Official Synopsis:
When a new Ghostface killer emerges in the quiet town where Sidney Prescott (Neve Campbell) has built a new life, her darkest fears are realised as her daughter (Isabel May) becomes the next target. Determined to protect her family, Sidney must face the horrors of her past to put an end to the bloodshed once and for all.
Courtney Cox, Mason Gooding and Jasmin Savoy Brown return after appearing in the film’s predecessors, with McKenna Grace (Regretting You), Celeste O’Connor (Madame Web), Joel McHale (Community), Anna Camp (Pitch Perfect) and Jimmy Tatro (Theater Camp) also starring.
Matthew Lillard, Scott Foley and David Arquette return, also, but their roles/returns are being kept very quiet.
The new film follows Scream VI, but both Melissa Barrera and Jenna Ortega do not appear as Sam and Tara Carpenter, nor do Radio Silence – directors Matt Bettinelli-Olpin and Tyler Gillett – with Scream creator Kevin Williamson directing the new installment. The previous installments have been hugely successful, with Part VI grossing almost $170million worldwide, while Part V (or Scream) grossed almost $140million.
Scream 7 opens in cinemas on February 27th.
