Harrow County TV series coming from Syfy

Syfy sets up TV series based on Cullen Bunn and Tyler Crook’s horror comic

Cullen Bunn and Tyler Crook’s Southern gothic fairytale comic Harrow County only started in May this year, but the sharpness of its tales and the beautiful artwork have very much made an impact, and Syfy has put a TV series into development.

Deadline reports that the network has recruited Becky Kirsch to write the Harrow County TV show, a Syfy veteran after working on Dominion and Twelve Monkeys.

The comic tells the story of “Emmy who has always known that the deep, dark woods surrounding her home crawled with ghosts, goblins, and the restless dead. On the eve of her 18th birthday, she learns that she is connected to these creatures and to the land itself in a way she never imagined, for she is the reincarnation of a powerful witch who was put to death on the very day Emmy was born. For this reason, the townsfolk mean to kill her too. In order to survive, Emmy must embrace the unusual powers at her command.”

You can buy Harrow County Volume 1 for £10.99 at Amazon.co.uk. Keep up with the latest genre news with the new issue of SciFiNow.
