Halloween 3D stalks towards production

The long-gestating Halloween 3D might actually be getting made

HalloweenMichael Myers fans who have been waiting for The Weinstein Company to get moving with Halloween 3D will be pleased to hear that the film will be getting a push at Cannes.

Bloody Disgusting reports that the word at Cannes is that The Weinstein Company is actively gearing up to get the film made. It’s still unclear if the film will be using the script by My Bloody Valentine 3D and Drive Angry‘s Todd Farmer and Patrick Lussier, who were also attached to the Weinsteins’ Hellraiser reboot at one stage.

It’s also unknown if Halloween 3D will follow on from Rob Zombie’s grim and gritty reboot and sequel. While we’d argue that the 2007 movie is not without merit, we’d be very happy to see the events of 2009’s Halloween II be completely ignored.

With Jason Voorhees enjoying a resurrection with a TV show and a reboot movie, it’s starting to look like the boogeymen are coming home.

You can buy Halloween 35th Anniversary Edition on Blu-ray for £19.99 at Amazon.co.uk.
