Guy Ritchie’s Knights Of The Roundtable is lining up Sherlock Holmes star Jude Law to play the villain.

Variety reports that Law, who worked with Ritchie on both Holmes movies, is in negotiations for an unnamed baddie role in the movie which Warner Bros hopes will kickstart a new franchise.

If he signs on, he’ll join Charlie Hunnam as Arthur and Àstrid Bergès-Frisbey (recently seen in I Origins) as Guinevere. Sadly, it looks like Idris Elba won’t be playing that mentor role he was rumoured for. Shame, he would have been a brilliant Merlin.

Knights Of The Roundtable is set for release in cinemas on 22 July 2016. Keep up with the latest genre news with the new issue of SciFiNow
