Mía Maestro (Twilight: Breaking Dawn, Alias) has joined the cast of Guillermo Del Toro’s The Strain, which is being produced by FX.
The pilot will be written by del Toro and Chuck Hogan based on their bestselling trilogy of novels, and del Toro will also direct. Maestro will be playing Dr. Nora Martinez, who is a colleague and intimate of Dr. Ephraim Goodweather (Corey Stoll). When the vampire plague hits New York, Ephraim and Nora must try to understand how it’s spreading and how to stop it before it’s too late. Kevin Durand (Resident Evil: Apocalypse, Lost) has also been cast as exterminator Vasily Fet.
